Here’s the second in our series of ‘Life Through Prison Objects’. This one was written by a fellow inmate.

SCISSORS & SELLOTAPE – by Den-d-lion
These everyday things which we use outside for wrapping, packing or neatly trimming something – are as rare as the proverbial ‘hen’s teeth’ or ‘rocking horse s**t’ here in prison.
OK, a scissors could conceivably be used as a weapon or turned into a ‘shank’ – but Sellotape?? Why ever not??
Is it because they think someone will tie someone else up with it, or use it as a ligature – or perhaps that could be another competition question: “What can you do with a little roll of Sellotape?”
I hope you don’t get stuck.
