The Eloquence of George W. Bush – Text only version:

George W Bush, the 43rd President of America, had a colourful presidency. On his watch we saw the attacks on the twin towers, the invasion of Iraq, the invasion of Afghanistan and an apocalyptic Global Financial Crisis.
But if you thought ‘W’ a fool, well all you have to do is read some of the quotes that we have chosen here that highlight the eloquence of the Texan Commander in Chief. Every quote is genuine.

“As yesterday’s positive report card shows, childrens do learn when standards are high and results are measured.”

“Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning?”

“You teach a child to read and he or her will be able to pass a literacy test.”

”You work three jobs? Uniquely American isn’t it? I mean, that’s fantastic that you’re doing that.”

“See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda.”

“I don’t care what the polls say. I don’t. I’m just doing what I think what’s wrong.”

“I just want you to know that, when we talk about war, we’re really talking about peace.”

“In my sentences I go where no man has gone before.”

“My job is a decision-making job, and as a result, I make a lot of decisions.”

“They misunderestimated me.”

“There’s an old saying in Tennessee – I know it’s in Texas, probably in Tennessee – that says ‘Fool me once, shame on – shame on you. Fool me – well you can’t get fooled again.”

“I think the human being and fish can co-exist peacefully”

“The thing that’s important for me to remember what’s the important thing.”

“There are cameras nowadays that have been developed to tell the difference between a squirrel and a bomb.”

“For every fatal shooting, there are about 3 non-fatal shootings. Folks, this is unacceptable in America.”

“Wait a minute. What did you just say? You’re predicting $4-a-gallon gas? … That’s interesting, I hadn’t heard that.”

“Reading is the basics for all learning.”

“It has come to my attention that air pollution is polluting the air!”

“I reads every chance I gets.”

“It’s clearly a budget. It’s got lots of numbers in it.”

“One of the great things about books is sometimes there are fantastic pictures.”

“One of the hardest parts of my job is to connect Iraq to the war on terror.”

“I’ll be long gone before some smart person ever figures out what happened inside this Oval Office.”
